1) Habitat description and characterization 2) Brief characterization of associated floristic elements. 3) Bird systematic sampling through surveying 15 500m long and 50 m wide transects, distributed along the 4 environmental units already described. The study was held in the surroundings of Aguada Pichana Este, a Total Austral´s operational site, located in Añelo, Neuquén, Argentina. Surveys were made covering 4 environmental units: Ravines and Canyons: includes a structural plain and active erosion headwaters and Alluvial lowland Transition area: includes alluvial lowland with eolic deposit, moving dunes, sandstone outcrops and polymictic soils. Antique terraces of Neuquen river. 15 transects were set covering the 4 environmental 5 in the Ravines and Canyons unit 3 in the alluvial lowland 4 in the transition area 3 in the antique terraces area To ensure an accurate identification of the observed individuals, birdwatching binoculars, cameras with interchangeable zoom semireflex lenses were used. Playback recordings were made of interest species.
