        <abstract>
            <para>This dataset includes biodiversity information collected by the consultant Geólogos Asociados S.A. The survey campaign was conducted as part of the implementation actions of a Biodiversity Action Plan prepared by Total Austral to develop on-site.  A Biodiversity Action Plan is a document that the company Total Austral designs for every operational site they have operations in. The document list actions to implement on-site for biodiversity restoration, conservation, and monitoring. The objective of the BAP is to diminish impacts on biodiversity that may come from the company activities. </para><para>In this case, the survey was an herpetofauna monitoring survey conducted in both La Escalonada and Rincón La Ceniza. Although the survey was conducted for the whole ensemble in both sites, the dataset only informs key, endemic and conservation status especies. This explains why there may be little occurences in some sites. </para>

        <introduction><para>This dataset compiles biodiversity data collected in campaigns developed by Geólogos Asociados S.A. Geólogos Asociados S.A is the environmental consultant who is in charge of the environmental and biodiversity assessment in Total Austral's Neuquén operational sites.</para><para>The biodiversity campaigns mentioned are part of the implementation of a Biodiversity Action Plan, a mandatory document which must be designed for every TotalEnergies operational site.</para><para>This document specifies implementation actions with the objective of reducing the impacts on biodiversity the company's activities may produce. The actions involve biodiversity monitoring, conservation and restoration.</para><para>The information shown in this document corresponds to key, endemic or category status species observations in an herpetofauna monitoring campaign developed in Rincón la Ceniza and La Escalonada, two Total Austral´s operational sites.</para><para>There are some observations from other groups. These correspond to occasional findings during the campaign, which were not found during the systematic survey. There are included in the dataset due to their importance in the area. </para></introduction>

2) Brief characterization of floristic associated elements

                        <para>In Rincón La Ceniza the survey covered 4 environmental units from the site sorroundings: plateu, sandstone outcrops, alluvial lowland and Carranza stream. 
Additionally, 6 observations spots were surveyed, doing observation and species identification for 15 minutes
In La Escalonada the survey covered 4 environmental units from the site sorroundings: basalt plateau (Unit 1), alluvial lowland (Unit 2), plateau with eolic deposits (Unit 3), and sandstone outcrops (Unit 4) Additionally, 2 observations spots were added to the survey, doing observation and species identification for 15 minutes.</para>

                    <para>Rincón La Ceniza: The survey was made by defining transects for direct observation of individuals. 8 transects were defined arranged along the 4 environmental units: 
4 transects for the plateau (ME) 
1 transect for the sandstone outcrops

1 transect for the Carranza stream
The transects were 500 m long and 50 m wide and were traversed by foot.
The observations spots were distributed the following way:
