Descrição

This dataset includes biodiversity occurences from several surveys done in Aguada Pichana Este, an area which is an operational site of Total Austral, a Total Energies affiliate in Argentina. These surveys were made as part of a Biodiversity Action Plan to mitigate the impacts of the operation in these sites.

The dataset include information from some campaigns which were made with the objective of collecting biodiversity data for designing a biodiversity action plan for the area.

Descrição do Design The main objective for the studies conducted is to obtain reliable data regarding the current state of the biodiversity in the area, as a diagnosis. These enables the consultant to design the biodiversity action plan which includes conservation actions in the area.

Métodos de Amostragem

As this datasets include occurences from several campaigns, different methodologies were used for the data collection. In the case of birds, herpetofauna and mammals observations, they were made through the observation along some linear transects already defined. The transects were 500 m long and 50 meters wide, having a total extension of 25000 square meters. In some occasions, the observations were made in particular spots which were not necessarily part of the transects. In this case, the datasets specifies "ad hoc observation" which was also made for an hour. In the case of flora, the sampling was made by Point Quadrat and the extension was 50 meters.

Área de Estudo The campaigns were made all along the Aguada Pichana Este site in Neuquén.
Controle de Qualidade To ensure the quality of the data, there were always 2 observers for the data collection. For the identification, when in doubt, the observations were checked with the corresponding bibliography.
