Description
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 19 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data
The project includes specific herpetofauna monitoring campaigns developing as part of TotalEnergies´ 2025 Biodiversity Action Plan on all their Neuquén operational sites : Aguada Pichana Este, Rincón La Ceniza y La Escalonada. The aim of the campaigns is to collect reliable scientific information on the most sensitive species of the herpetofauna ensamble in the areas, in order to be able to define further conservations actions for these species on the short and long term and check on their populations´ stability through time.

Sampling Methods
Rincón La Ceniza: The survey was made by defining transects for direct observation of individuals. 8 transects were defined arranged along the 4 environmental units: 4 transects for the plateau (ME) 1 transect for the sandstone outcrops 3 transects for the alluvial lowland 1 transect for the Carranza stream The transects were 500 m long and 50 m wide and were traversed by foot. The observations spots were distributed the following way: 4 spots in Unit 1 1 in Unit 3 1 in Unit 4 La Escalonada The survey was made by defining transects for direct observation of individuals. 9 transects were defined arranged along the 4 environmental units: 2 for Unit 1 3 for Unit 2 3 for Unit 3 1 for Unit 4 The observations spots were distributed the following way: 1 in Unit 1 1 in Unit 2
| Study Extent | In Rincón La Ceniza the survey covered 4 environmental units from the site sorroundings: plateu, sandstone outcrops, alluvial lowland and Carranza stream. Additionally, 6 observations spots were surveyed, doing observation and species identification for 15 minutes In La Escalonada the survey covered 4 environmental units from the site sorroundings: basalt plateau (Unit 1), alluvial lowland (Unit 2), plateau with eolic deposits (Unit 3), and sandstone outcrops (Unit 4) Additionally, 2 observations spots were added to the survey, doing observation and species identification for 15 minutes. |

Method step description:
- The steps followed during the survey were: 1) Habitat description and characterization 2) Brief characterization of floristic associated elements 3) Systematic herpetofauna survey through 500 m length and 50 m width transects and direct observation of specimens. There were 8 transects in total and 5 observation spots along the 4 environmental units already descripted. 4) Mapping of environments that fulfill endemic and conservation category status species´ habitat requirements. 5) Field validation of the mapped environments Validación en campo de los ambientes cartografiados; 6) Georeferencing of notable ecological attributes
