Description
This dataset includes information of flora sampling events from surveys conducted during 2023 and 2024 in Aguada Pichana Este, Añelo, by the company Total Austral
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 18 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data
The survey was made as part of a Biodiversity Action Plan. The objective was to extend the information regarding the flora of the area, in order to identify species that are key for conservation, due to the fact that by conservating them they protect and ensure the conservation of many other plant species in the area.
Title | Flora monitoring survey |

Study Area Description | The study area was divided into two zones: the central eastern side and the central western side. This differentation was made because each zone has majority of a particular arboreal plant especies, this way the survey is made easier. |
Sampling Methods
For the survey, sampling units of the size of 1 (one) hectare were defined in each sector, representative of each environment and according to the species under study. They were traversed on foot by two observers, the findings were georeferenced (GPS), and the following measurements were specified: height (m), trunk diameter or forked diameter (cm) (in the case where the main stem was covered by the substrate), and crown diameter (cm) for the genus Schinus, due to the density in the branching of the specimens and the formation of thickets that hinder access for measurement. There were defined 12 sampling units in the central- eastern area and 13 in the central- western area.
Study Extent | The study was made all over the TotalEnergies´operational site Aguada Pichana Este. In this case, divided into two campaigns, one covering the central- east area and one covering the central-west area. |

Method step description:
- The specimens registered for Parkinsonia praecox had to have a height superior to 3 m and a diameter superior to 10 cm. In the case of Schinus johnstonii (black pepper tree), only one specimen was measured if the individuals formed clumps, due to the difficulty of access for its measurement.
