The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 27 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Geographic Coverage
The shore monitoring include 314 km of the northeastern coast of Tierra del Fuego. The route was traveled in adequate vehicles for doing the observations.

Sampling Methods
For every step of the project, there was a shore monitoring expedition made before the activities started, during the activities and after the activities were finished. The km of coast were surveyed in their entirety as long as the climatic conditions allowed it
| Study Extent | This monitoring was made by scientists of the CADIC- conicet institute which worked in a covenant with Total Austral providing their services in order to appropiately collect the information. The shore monitoring was made during the 3 steps of the Fénix Project execution proccess. During the monitoring, coasts between Península Páramo (53°05′S 68°13′O) and Punta María (53°55’S, 67°31’O) were surveyed in the search of stranded mammals consisting of approximately 314 km of coast The three steps of the project were the following: pipes installation, piles kneeling, well perforation |

Method step description:
- The register of the stranded marine mammlas was made through ad hoc designed spreadsheets. The open coded platform KoboToolbox and its application KoboCollect to register all the on-site information (https://www.kobotoolbox.org). In order to describe the event, the register of each stranded animal included the following series of data: - Time and Date of the observation - Site - Geographic coordinates: latitude and longitude - Observer taking down the data - Species, sex and ontogenetic class - Level of decomposition (Code) - Morfometric measures - Photos - General description of the animal For the classification of the grade of decomposition in which the stranded marine mammals were found, the code established by Geraci and Lounsbury was followed (2005) Sometimes this level of decomposition unable the register of some data. In the planning of the expeditions, it was set to do necropsies of the found animals who showed a level of decomposition between 1 to 3. However, as there were 21 sea lions found which had sanitary risk for avian influenza. 7 were tested for avian influenza and the result came out positive so the necropsies couldn´t be made.
